It flies.  Time, that is.  It’s hard to believe it has been over 10 days since my last post.  Maybe this should serve as a warning not to check this blog too frequently, although the reason is partially due to a lack of events to write about.  I’ve been busy re-adjusting to my final semester after Christmas break and things are just now starting to roll with a workable rhythm.  I’ve been doing a lot of inspirational research and will share some of it with you as I stumble across artists throughout the murky seas of the internets who truly inspire me.  One artist who recently blew me out of the water with pure talent was Wojtek Siudmak.  Wojtek is a Polish artist who is well-established to the point that I really should have known about him before.  One project he’s worked on is the illustration of the Polish “Dune” series.  Check out this link for all you can occularly consume of this amazing talent. http://www.siudmak.com/ Think über-Dali.

In other news I’m looking in to ways to create some kind of blog-based income as it may be a good kick start for my quest for social networking horizons.  Who knows if that will pan out, but I know it’s being done and I want me a piece of the plunder if ye catch me drift.

As far as art that I have been working on, my most recent project involves my brother, Kevin Embleton’s band “A Minor Bird.”  Chances are, you haven’t heard of them unless you live within five miles of my house, but my brother has been involved with successful short-term music projects before and has even recorded his own solo album, Somewhere Far Away.  The band is working towards studio sessions and should have some recordings before this summer (at least I hope so, because their stuff is way too good to keep under wraps for much longer).  Anyway, I’ve been put in charge of designing the first album’s look and last night I completed the first version of the cover in an epic all-nighter.  It should be up in my devArt gallery very soon.

Other than that I’ve been drawing like a mad, one-eyed Captain scans the horizon through his hazy telescope, desperate for sight of Treasure Island only to look for the next horizon as soon as he makes land.  I’m working on an independent study in drawing this semester which will hopefully result in the beginning of work that actually expresses me as an artist and doesn’t just display my abilities.  More on that as the project develops.  As for now, I’m going to retire to my quarters for the night to continue scheming and dreaming of the loot tomorrow will bring.  The night will undoubtedly include some sketchbook brainstorming as well.  In the meanwhile, you take care not to catch the scurvy and don’t let the seas numb your mind to the magic of your sub-conscious.  Good sailing, mates!
